Outer space has inspired and captivated humans ever since we’ve been aware of it. It took until 1969 for man to land on the moon. In the 55 years since then, technology has advanced rapidly. We are potentially within a few years of space travel and exploration for civilians. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made it a mission to land on and inhabit Mars with his company SpaceX. Is it worth investing in space stocks in 2024? The space industry represents the epitome of risk vs reward investment. These companies could explode if space travel eventually becomes commonplace. At the same time, they could go to zero if space exploration never takes off. If you have a higher risk tolerance, here are three secret space stocks that could fly higher in the next few years. Boeing (BA) Source: vaalaa / Shutterstock Boeing (NYSE: BA ) is an aerospace company that does not need any introduction, being one of the largest manufacturers of airplanes and space vehicles in the world. So far in 2024, Boeing has been one of the worst-performing stocks with a loss of more than 33.5%.
Senator Tells Taxpayers On Gaza Pier: "Cost Has Not Just Risen, It Has Exploded" An initial US Navy ship has reached Eastern Mediterranean waters off the coast of the Gaza Strip where its crew has begun constructing a floating platform for the ambitious Gaza humanitarian pier project ordered by President Biden, new satellite images published by Planet Labs show. USNS Roy P. Benavidez is now some 5 miles from the shoreline location which serves as the base of operations, overseen by the Israeli military. The Associated Press writes that "A satellite image from Sunday by Planet Labs PBC showed pieces of the floating pier in the Mediterranean Sea alongside the vessel ." Planet Labs PBC via AP Both US and Israeli officials have voiced that they hope to have a mobile pier in place and humanitarian deliveries being offloaded via maritime routes by sometime in the first part of May. The causeway is expected to be at a length of 550-meters (1,800 feet) and will have Israeli military protection.
A U.S. Navy ship involved in an American-led effort to bring more aid into the besieged Gaza Strip is offshore from the enclave and building out a floating platform for the operation, according to satellite photos analyzed Monday by The Associated Press. The USNS Roy P. Benavidez sits some 8 kilometers (5 miles) from the pier and base of operations for the project being built by the Israeli military. A satellite image from Sunday by Planet Labs PBC showed pieces of the floating pier in the Mediterranean Sea alongside the vessel.
New satellite photos suggest an apparent Israeli retaliatory strike targeting Iran’s central city of Isfahan hit a radar system for a Russian-made air defense battery, contradicting repeated denials by officials in Tehran of any damage in the assault. The strike on an S-300 radar in what appears to have been a very limited strike by the Israelis would represent far more damage done than in the massive drone-and-missile attack Iran unleashed against Israel on April 13. That may be why Iranian officials up to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei have been trying to dismiss discussing what the attack actually did on Iranian soil. The Associated Press analyzed images Monday from Planet Labs PBC of the damage.
close Video Iran trying to ‘downplay’ and ‘save face’ to cover up military vulnerabilities: IDF veteran IDF Special Operations veteran Aaron Cohen and executive director of The Lawfare Project Brooke Goldstein react to Israel’s ‘limited’ retaliatory strike on Iran on ‘Hannity.’ Iran’s top foreign affairs official dismissed weapons launched against the country by neighboring Israel as “toys” and said there was no plan to retaliate. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian downplayed the Israeli strike during an interview on Friday, hours after the impact. “What happened last night wasn’t a strike,” Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told NBC News. “They were more like toys that our children play with — not drones.” IRANIAN PRESIDENT MAKES NO MENTION OF ISRAELI STRIKE DESPITE THREATENING COMPLETE DESTRUCTION Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian photographed during a meeting at United Nations Headquarters. The penny stock sector, characterized by its volatility, often undergoes rapid surges and declines due to factors like low volume, cheap pricing, and operational dynamics. Still, for well-informed investors, certain penny stocks present opportunities to achieve substantial gains at low costs. This backdrop forms my list of penny stocks to buy now. Recent trends indicate a high probability of consecutive rate cuts in 2024, and lower rates tend to kickstart boom cycles for penny stocks. With rates projected to stay around the low 5% range for the rest of 2024 before dropping to the high 4s next year, compared to the current rate of 5.5%, even modest improvements could send penny stock segments surging. So here are seven penny stocks to buy now. Destination XL Group (DXLG) Source: ESB Professional / Shutterstock.com Destination XL Group (NASDAQ: DXLG ) is unique among penny stocks because, unlike so many unprofitable or speculative firms, Destination XL Group is a longstanding retailer with a proven business model and operational success.
All eyes are on the upcoming eclipse, with cities reporting record hotel and campground reservations while others preemptively declare states of emergency to deal with high traffic as sightseers flood local areas. It’s also sparking renewed interest in space stocks to buy, a sector that’s slowly regaining ground lost over the past few years. Space stocks, after their meteoric rise in 2020, have since come back down to earth, with many companies falling from their previous peaks. In 2020, as a group, space stocks achieved a 64% return, but 2022 saw a significant downturn with a 12% loss, albeit still outperforming the S&P 500. While the outcome for 2023 remains undecided, space stocks are likely to end the year relatively flat. However, space remains an attractive long-term investment avenue for those who can sidestep exaggerated excitement and unrealistic expectations. According to Barron’s, the space industry is on track to grow into a $1 trillion market , with some even more optimistic predictions estimating that operational space activities, including missions between Earth and the moon, could soar to $10 trillion by 2050.
