Owing to their low market capitalization, penny stocks are notoriously volatile. Like altcoins, this drives speculative trading and pump and dump schemes. The VIX is up 24% over the week and there has been increased market volatility. Therefore, it’s crucial to identify which penny stocks to sell and reassess your penny stock portfolios. Amid these market dynamics, it’s noteworthy that over the past 12 months the CPI index has ascended by 3.5% before seasonal adjustment. This was a climb that overshadows the 3.2% annual rise reported up until February. Although penny stocks remain popular among retail investors due to low entry capital, the high risk, high reward strategies in play result in even greater volatility. The question is, which penny stocks have shown sufficient financial weaknesses to kick them out? Let’s identify three penny stocks to sell, each presenting substantial risks in the current market environment Greenlane Holdings (GNLN) Year-to-date, Greenlane Holdings (NASDAQ: GNLN ) is up 9%.
Right now, the prospect of escalating geopolitical conflict in the Middle East has many investors running for the hills. But in fact, Wall Street’s famous ‘fear gauge’ – the VIX – is signaling that they should be doing the opposite. It seems that now may actually be a great time to buy stocks. The Volatility Index (VIX) is widely considered Wall Street’s ‘fear gauge.’ It measures the stock market’s expected volatility based on S&P 500 index options. So, in that respect, it measures how worried investors are about the market at any given point in time. It’s a sentiment indicator. And like most sentiment indicators, it is often a contrarian signal. As the legendary Warren Buffet once said, “It pays to be greedy when others are fearful and fearful when others are greedy.” That certainly is the case with the VIX – especially so over the past year. Why the VIX Has Us Bullish on Stocks Since early 2023, the VIX has typically fluctuated between 12 and 16. But every single time it has spiked above 18, stocks were on the verge of a huge upward rally.
Hello, Reader. Alphabet Inc. ( GOOGL ) has certainly been cooking. On Tuesday, the company unveiled plans for its new AI chip dubbed Axion. The central processing unit (CPU), based on Arm architecture, promises superior performance compared to existing general-purpose Arm CPUs currently available for cloud computing. Specifically, Axion boasts up to 30% higher performance than current top Arm cloud instances – and up to 50% better performance and 60% improved energy-efficiency compared to the structure used in Intel’s x86 chip. “I see this as a basis for growing the size of the pie,” emphasized Google vice president Amin Vahdat. Rather than sell Axion directly to customers, Google will start out using it in its AI data centers. A roll-out to Google Cloud’s business customers will come later this year. Google Cloud Vice President Mark Lohmeyer echoes Vahdat’s sentiment, claiming, “We’re making it easy for customers to bring their existing workloads to Arm.” In part in response to Google’s new chip, Nvidia Corp. ( NVDA ) shares dropped 10% from their all-time high on Tuesday.
In the current market scenario, the one sector that promises significant returns in the coming years is the tech sector. Driven by artificial intelligence ( AI ), the tech sector has been thriving, and tech stocks have been hitting new highs over the past few months. There is immense potential in the industry, and according to Goldman Sachs (NYSE: GS ), AI-related investments will reach $200 billion globally by 2025. As the adoption of AI increases and it penetrates multiple industries, we will see companies report impressive numbers, and now is the time to watch out for AI stocks to buy. The companies not adopting or investing in AI could end up losing a lot of business. The success of Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA ) is proof of the impact of AI in our world, and it is currently crowned the winner in the AI race. However, there is still a long way to go, and several companies are investing in AI to make the most of the hype. If you missed out on the chance to buy NVDA stock, here are seven AI stocks to buy if you want to make the most of the AI frenzy.
Among the ‘Magnificent Seven’ group of big tech cos, only Alphabet, with a multiple of about 21, is cheaper.
Advanced Micro Devices is diving into the artificial intelligence (AI) industry.
