If the U.S. is serious about having millions of electric vehicles on the roads, we need many more EV charging stations, which could create big opportunity for some of the top EV charging stocks to buy. At the moment, we’re not even close. Sure, according to a McKinsey report , the U.S. has a goal of having 50% of all vehicles sold be electric by 2030. But for that to happen, we need a good deal of EV charging stations. In fact, McKinsey adds that if the U.S. wants to reach that 50% goal, it will need about 1.2 million public, and 29 million private charging stations. “That’s approximately 20 times more charging stations than are currently installed in the United States in 2023,” added Blink Charging . Instead, according to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA ) CEO Elon Musk , the Biden Administration’s allocated $7.5 billion for EV charging stations has resulted in seven operational ones, as of March. That $7.5 billion was allocated to build out about 500,000 charging stations by 2030 more than two years ago.
Elon Musk''s Tesla charging team changes jeopardize fast-charging station deployment, influencing Biden''s U.S. highway electrification. NEVI program, with $5 billion funding, encounters delays. Various key players like EVgo and ChargePoint brace for potential opportunities amidst Tesla''s alterations.
There are several types of bargain stocks available to buy in the stock market. There are, of course, traditional bargain stocks with very low valuations and an average growth rate. Then we have stocks with run-of-the-mill or even above-average valuations, paired with rapid growth. Finally, there are firms that have powerful, upcoming catalysts and low valuations. Sometimes the latter companies may have high price-earnings and/or elevated price-to-sales ratios. But their market capitalizations are low in light of their huge, future opportunities. In many cases, the latter names are only appropriate for long-term investors. And bargain stocks in general are often most appropriate for investors who are willing to wait long periods of time for their profits to materialize. That’s because stocks often have low valuations because the Street is skeptical about their businesses and outlooks. And sometimes, it takes a great deal of time to convince the Street that it was mistaken. The three best bargain stocks to buy listed in this column are a mixture of the different varieties that I described above.
